Les règles ci-dessous sont toujours valables, sauf indications contraires. The rules below are always valid, unless otherwise stated.

Les Blancs ne peuvent pas capturer de pièces uniquement blanches.
Les Noirs ne peuvent pas capturer de pièces uniquement noires.
(Les pièces neutres, à la fois blanches et noires, ne sont ni uniquement blanches, ni uniquement noires : elles peuvent être prises par les deux camps) White cannot capture merely white pieces.
Black cannot capture merely black pieces.
(Neutral pieces, at the same time white and black, are neither merely white, nor merely white : they can be taken by White and by Black)

Si un camp au trait peut capturer le Roi adverse, il doit le faire.
If a side to move can capture the opposite King, he must do it.

Un Roi ne peut pas se suicider.
A King cannot suicide.

Tout auto-échec est interdit.
Any self-check is forbidden.

Les coups de longueur nulle sont autorisés.
Moves which don't modify the position are allowed.

Lors d'une promotion par capture, la promotion précède la capture.
When a promotion by capture occurs, the promotion precedes the capture.

Un Pion (y compris un Pion féerique) peut avancer ou capturer d'un pas partout sur l'échiquier, sauf sur sa 2° rangée, où il peut avancer de 2 pas.
A Pawn (including a fairy Pawn) can move or capture one step forward everywhere on the board, except on its 2nd rank, where it can move two steps forward.

Un Pion (y compris un Pion féerique) se promeut quand il arrive sur sa rangée de promotion, la promotion étant choisie par le camp qui l'y a amené.
A Pawn (including a fairy Pawn) promotes when it arrives on its promotion rank, the promotion being chosen by the side which brings it there.

Si une pièce féerique est présente, les promotions en ce type de pièce sont autorisées.
If a fairy unit is present, the promotions to that kind of piece are allowed.
